چکیده

Three-dimensional exact solutions for temperature and thermoelastic stresses in multilayered anisotropic plates are derived advanced boundary-value problems with general boundary conditions. The extended Stroh formalism is formulated to include the thermal coupling Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory that captures small scale effects. simply supported structures subjected time-harmonic distributions of temperature, combined tractions, which represented by means Fourier series expansions. In particular, prescribed loads on both bottom top surfaces uniformly heterogeneously distributed normal stresses, while imperfect mechanical contacts between constituents incorporated at internal interfaces. Recursive field relations interfaces consistently articulated virtue traditional propagation matrix method, further completed dual variable position technique overcome numerical instability issues. Three application examples proposed throw light various effects externally applied imperfections fields structures. residual stress graphite fiber-reinforced epoxy composites shown be drastically different from those predicted classical when significant. stacking sequence number copper molybdenum laminated great importance tailoring interfacial properties, especially if thermally conducting boundaries taken into account. forced vibration analysis barrier coatings nickel based superalloys investigated, including bonding adjoining layers. Depending input frequency amplitude, severe oscillating displacements take place single crystal can endanger safety-related stability integrity aircraft engines. Overall, present should utilized optimal design sophisticated desired steady-state responses.

Exact Solutions for Simply Supported and Multilayered Piezothermo- elastic Plates with Imperfect Interfaces

Exact solutions are derived for three-dimensional, orthotropic, linearly piezothermoelastic, simply-supported, and multilayered rectangular plates with imperfect interfaces under static thermo-electro-mechanical loadings. In this research the imperfect interface is described as thermally weakly (or highly) conducting, mechanically compliant and dielectrically weakly (or highly) conducting. Whil...

Light splitting with imperfect wave plates.

We discuss the use of wave plates with arbitrary retardances, in conjunction with a linear polarizer, to split linearly polarized light into two linearly polarized beams with an arbitrary splitting fraction. We show that for non-ideal wave plates, a much broader range of splitting ratios is typically possible when a pair of wave plates, rather than a single wave plate, is used. We discuss the m...

Investigation of Stoneley Waves in Multilayered Plates

Abstract—Stoneley waves are interface waves that propagate at the interface between two solid media. In this study, the dispersion characteristics and wave structures of Stoneley waves in elastic multilayered plates are displayed and investigated. With a perspective of bulk wave, a reasonable assumption of the potential function forms of the expansion wave and shear wave in nth layer medium is ...

Coupled Thermoelasticity Impact Response Analysis of Composite Plates with SMA Wires in Thermal Environments

Impact responses of rectangular composite plates with embedded shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are investigated in the present research. The plate is assumed to be placed in a thermal environment; so that in contrast to the available researches in the field, the shape memory and ferroelasticity effects have to be considered also in addition to the superelasticity. The governing equations are der...

Numerical Implementation of Imperfect Interfaces

One approach to characterizing interfacial stiffness is to introduce imperfect interfaces that allow displacement discontinuities whose magnitudes depend on interfacial traction and on properties of the interface or interphase region. This work implemented such imperfect interfaces into both finite element analysis and the material point method. The finite element approach defined imperfect int...
